We are over halfway through the season and Big Brother Hotshots has been nothing but exciting and intriguing. Initially there was a spate of female evictions, as Africa voted out one fair lady after the other. Mira, Resa, Lillian, Esther and Sabina were all out of the house before the first male to be evicted, Alusa. Suddenly, the tables were turned and Kacey Moore, Luis and Arthur were next sent home in quick succession.
This past weekend, the demise of Frankie and Permithias brought the numbers in the house to seven remaining males and seven remaining females. Rwanda, Kenya and Namibia are all out with the evictions of Frankie, Arthur, Permithias, Luis, Alusa and Sabina. Zambia has Macky2, Uganda still has beauty queen Ellah, Tanzania’s funny man Idris is still flying his flag high. Fellow funny-man and the Portuguese rapping man, Trezagah is growing in popularity, as is Ghanaian fashion icon, M’am Bea. The mischievous Tayo is doing Nigeria proud with quite a few wins of theStarMeter.
Four countries have both their country representatives intact, Zimbabwe has JJ and Butterphly; remaining very vocal in the house,Samantha and Nhlanhla are South Africa’s inmates. Malawi has Mr.265 and current Head of House, Sipe whereas Botswana has the “head shaver” supreme Sheillah and the terrified Goitse.
It is interesteing to note that there have been three male Head of Houses and three females, with Sipe this week being added to the list of Laveda, Samantha, Nhlanhla, JJ and Idris. We are just past halfway now and the numbers are all even. At one stage it looked as if Africa had it in for all the women, systematically cutting one distressed damsel at a time out of the show, however, the ladies have come back fighting, showing their leadership skills and outmaneuvering the men as they head towards the USD300 000 final prize.
Africa is taking notice and the game is now evenly balanced, anything can happen. If previous seasons have taught us anything, Biggie has many a twist and turn up his sneaky sleeve and this fascinating game will get even more exciting.
