More surprises are coming to Housemates as they enjoy their say in the Big Brother house. To make the game more interesting, Big Brother has introduced the Star Metre, giving Africa a chance to award their favourite Hotshot for the week with a special gift. This week’s winner, announced just before the list of nominees was read out, was Tayo.
He had been called into the diary room, where he was told by Big Brother that he had received the Star Gift and was awarded with a gift basket. Tayo was completely blown away at the gesture, and the surprise was etched across his face.
He was uncertain whether or not he should share the news with his fellow housemates, but eventually decided he would. He told them he wished for them to receive his gift with an open heart. He could not stop saying wow, clearly in awe of how much Africa loved him – a fact which cannot be missed:
It was also important for him to tell his housemates how happy he was that he had been able to fix the tension they had felt towards him, and vice versa. This led to a warm round of applause, although there were a few housemates who sat in stony silence during his impassioned speech.
M’am Bea did not look impressed, nor did JJ or Alusa. The signifier of Africa’s love for him seems to have them worried. But Tayo admitted that he could not let the prize get to his head, and even joked with the housemates “don’t nominate me just because Africa loves me.”
